The Synaptic Learning Company ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Nuerba mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Native language preference
• Languages you are studying

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use the App:

• Screen views and navigation patterns
• Feature usage (flashcards created, review sessions, karaoke usage)
• App performance data
• Session duration and frequency

User-Generated Content

We store content you create within the App:

• Flashcards and vocabulary lists
• Study progress and review history
• Learning algorithm data (for spaced repetition)

Device Information

When errors occur, we collect:

• Device type and model
• Operating system version
• App version
• Crash logs and error reports

We want to be clear about what we do not collect:

Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and display name from your Google account.

Google Translate API

We use Google Translate to provide translations. Your search queries are sent to Google's servers for processing.

Google Gemini AI

We use Google's Gemini AI to generate definitions and word relationships. Your vocabulary queries are processed by Google's AI services.

YouTube

The karaoke feature extracts audio from YouTube videos. We do not share your personal data with YouTube, but video playback is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Genius

We retrieve song lyrics from Genius.com. Your personal data is not shared with Genius.

Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

• Account data - Until you delete your account
• User content - Until you delete it or your account
• Analytics data - Up to 14 months (Firebase Analytics default)
• Crash reports - Up to 90 days

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform)
• Access controls and authentication

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

All Users

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications
• Opt out of analytics (via device settings)

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (including Google) maintain servers. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy in the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
